A ‘Parent-Teacher Gathering and Dream Assembly’ was held in Dhaka with the aim of nurturing students’ dreams, promoting their mental development, ensuring quality education, and preparing them for future careers.

The event, organised by Swapnashilon School, featured important discussions for students and parents on education, parenting, self-confidence, technology, and future skills.

The programme was held on Saturday, September 12. Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Toufiq Imam attended the event as the chief guest. Noted Dhaka-based musician and Organising Secretary of the Bangladesh Teachers’ Association Bipasha Yasmin, and former college teacher and Director of Sangskritir Kheya Sarker Amirul Islam were present as special guests.

Director of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission Anisur Rahman chaired the event. Former teacher at Government Teachers’ Training College, Dhaka, and Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank Training Academy Sawad Bin Parvez, along with noted writer, trainer, and Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank Nazmul Huda, spoke as discussants.

The speakers said that in today’s rapidly changing world, families and educational institutions must work together to develop children’s creativity, critical thinking, self-confidence, communication skills, and technological competence rather than limiting education to conventional learning.

They also stressed the importance of preparing children for the future by recognising their interests, talents, and dreams instead of placing excessive pressure on them to meet parental expectations.

The speakers further said that turning a child’s dreams into reality requires the collective support of teachers, parents, and society. They emphasised that children who are encouraged to dream big can grow into capable, compassionate, and responsible citizens of the future.

Students, parents, teachers, and people from various professions attended the event. The programme generated considerable interest and enthusiasm among students and their parents.
