Swapnashilon School's Parent-Teacher Gathering and Dream Assembly Held in Dhaka

A ‘Parent-Teacher Gathering and Dream Assembly’ was held in Dhaka with the aim of nurturing students’ dreams, promoting their mental development, ensuring quality education, and preparing them for future careers.

The event, organised by Swapnashilon School, featured important discussions for students and parents on education, parenting, self-confidence, technology, and future skills.

The programme was held on Saturday, September 12. Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Toufiq Imam attended the event as the chief guest. Noted Dhaka-based musician and Organising Secretary of the Bangladesh Teachers’ Association Bipasha Yasmin, and former college teacher and Director of Sangskritir Kheya Sarker Amirul Islam were present as special guests.

Director of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission Anisur Rahman chaired the event. Former teacher at Government Teachers’ Training College, Dhaka, and Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank Training Academy Sawad Bin Parvez, along with noted writer, trainer, and Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank Nazmul Huda, spoke as discussants.

The speakers said that in today’s rapidly changing world, families and educational institutions must work together to develop children’s creativity, critical thinking, self-confidence, communication skills, and technological competence rather than limiting education to conventional learning.

They also stressed the importance of preparing children for the future by recognising their interests, talents, and dreams instead of placing excessive pressure on them to meet parental expectations.

The speakers further said that turning a child’s dreams into reality requires the collective support of teachers, parents, and society. They emphasised that children who are encouraged to dream big can grow into capable, compassionate, and responsible citizens of the future.

Students, parents, teachers, and people from various professions attended the event. The programme generated considerable interest and enthusiasm among students and their parents.

Presided over by Anisur Rahman, Director of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission, the event featured speeches by discussants Sawad Bin Parvez—a former teacher at the Government Teachers' Training College, Dhaka, and Additional Director at the Bangladesh Bank Training Academy—and Nazmul Huda, a renowned writer, trainer, and Joint Director at Bangladesh Bank.

Also present were M Hafiz, Executive Editor of *Swapnashilon* magazine, and Habib Khan, Online Newsroom Editor at Asian Television.

The speakers emphasized that in today's rapidly changing world, families and educational institutions must collaborate to foster children's creativity, critical thinking, self-confidence, communication skills, and technological proficiency, rather than limiting them to conventional education alone. They also stressed the importance of preparing children for the future by valuing their interests, talents, and dreams, rather than burdening them with excessive expectations.

The speakers further noted that the collective cooperation of teachers, parents, and society is essential to turn a child's dream into reality. They remarked that if children are empowered with the courage to dream big, they will grow into capable and humane citizens of the future.

Professional Development of Teachers through Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The programme will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the school campus. As part of the programme, a 60-minute session titled “AI Adaptation for Teachers” will be conducted from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm by Mr. Sawad Parvez. The session will focus on practical ways teachers can adapt and use AI tools to improve lesson planning, teaching effectiveness, classroom activities, learning resources, assessment, and student engagement.

Weekly Cultural Programme: Special Event on the Death Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore

The special programme was arranged to commemorate 22nd Srabon, the death anniversary of the great poet and Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The second session, held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, focused on “Educational Leadership and Communication Strategy”. The session was conducted by Touhidul Islam Khan Shoikot, Joint Director (JD), Bangladesh Bank and CEO, TIKS Education. The session focused on developing effective educational leadership, strengthening communication skills, and promoting strategic communication practices among teachers for creating a more effective and collaborative learning environment.

The Class Party and Guardian Gatherings were successfully organized at Western Pre-Cadet School on 10 November 2025. Media personnel, cultural activists, parents, guardians, and students attended the event. The program featured cake cutting, balloons, festoons, beautiful decorations, singing, recitation, and enjoyable games including a dart board. The entire event was filled with joy and happiness. Parents and guardians expressed their views and shared that they are very happy with Western and feel proud to be a part of the Western family.
